Today was a beautiful late autumn Sunday.  I decided to explore some of the real estate open houses.

Time was limited but my impression was profound!  Only one of the homes showed real intention, from the stand point of the owner, to woo potential buyers. It’s position in the sub-division was not remarkable.  In one sense it broke the classic rule of eliminating personal items, but it made up for that transgression with a warmth and serenity that made me want to “be there.”

Unintentionally I kept bumping into a potential buyer that was on a similar trail of open houses.  Even though there were things about the sub-divison that they were originally rejecting, I could sense their intense attraction to this property.  The other properties were empty of furnishings or un-focused in their presentation.  But this wonderfully presented property was captivating.  The flow, the aliveness balanced with serenity,  that unspoken energy, was abundant.

I have been working with feng shui for 14 years and know it’s power.  I am trained and certified in feng shui and home staging but also, it must just be in my blood.  Years before either of those terms were talked about I was able to sell my homes in record time and for record amounts of money.  How?  Exactly what I saw today; maximizing presentation of the property.  Wooing potential buyers with that extraordinary sense of wanting to “be there.”  It’s not about the “house,” it’s about the “haven!”

And I have had great real estate agents to put all the other details together!

I have not posted for a few months, but, not because there has not been lots to talk about.  Putting together two of my passions, love for communication (ironically!) and essential oils, I have produced several videos about Young Living Essential Oils.  You can view them at www.youtube.com/homehealthhappiness.  I will be posting them more in the future but you can see them all there now.  Most are only one to two minutes.  They demonstrate products such as the new diffusers and also gather impressions.  Video really brings home the adage, “A picture is worth a thousand words…”  I took the video course in May as below and then was assistant for a repeat of te course in August.  It will soon be available to purchase.  Contact me if you would like to know more.

In August I hosted the “Come As You Will Be 2015 Party”  for the Center for Conscious Living.  Those attending “acted as if..”  it is already 2015 and they have manifested all their goals and aspirations for five years from now.  They talked, dressed and carried props demonstrating their accomplishments.  Even the timid got into the spirit of it after a few minutes and had a ball being their desired future self.  Marlene Volper, who assisted me with the project, and I will be offering events like this for groups and organizations.  If you know someone who may be interested, please contact me.

I had the privilege for staging a local historic home to prepare it for sale.  It was an amazing shift in the energy of the home.  The market is slow, but it put this home which had become dated and cluttered, right on the top of the desirable list.

So these have been months of plentiful and wonderful experiences with the elements and energy of home, health and happiness.  More to come!

For those of you who know me, you have heard me say that Energetic Space Clearing is one of the most powerful processes I do.  It helps bring clarity, purpose and awareness along with great new energy to your home.  If you are preparing to sell, it is the invisible aspect that literally clears a path for your next move and for the right buyer to show up.  On April 22nd HGTV’s “Selling New York” had a clearing done on a property.  Interestingly the client was feeling a bit panicked and confused about selling or renting.  Right after the clearing she was clear that renting was the right thing to do for the moment with the intention to sell when the right opportunity presented. What a wonderful story (NYT) about the Lieb House, designed by Robert Venturi, that was preserved by moving it on a barge to a new location.  It made me think of the book “Move Your Stuff; Change Your Life”.  Most of us don’t have to move our whole house or even to a new house in order to change our lives.  Just moving or removing some of our stuff can make a huge difference.  That’s feng shui in action.  I don’t know about you, but living in the northeast corridor this winter has seemed cold and endlessly dreary.  As I was driving yesterday, however, I could see the first blush of red on barren branches.  I got very excited knowing spring is really just around the corner.  Yes! Be like nature – don’t hesitate when the impulse is there.  Look at your space and start clearing out things that look stale where they are or in your life altogether.  To busy today to start?  All things start with a thought.  So respect what you notice and write a list.  Believe that it will be done.  There!  Just like nature, you are already started!

I just found a great article you may want to check out using the concept of a makeover for under $300. In these times of possible job loss and shrinking assets, having a space that is adding to your frustration and potential depression is the last thing you need.  Someone once described paint as money in a can.  That certainly holds true if you are planning to sell or rent property.  But imagine you are looking for a new job because you were laid off or are worried you will be.  Resist the temptation to sink into piles of old papers and mail and feel sorry for yourself.  Get rid of papers and things that dangerously keep you mired in the past.  Then get some painters tape and paint and start creating.  I am a great believer in the power of intention, so with each stroke of the paint roller or brush, visualize your perfect job coming to you quickly and easily.  You can increase the power of that potential exponentially by mixing in a few drops of Young Living Essential Oil “Highest Potential” to the can of paint.  When you are done, viola, you have surrounded yourself with success! Michael Smith, the newly appointed White House Decorator, doesn’t say anything about feng shui in his interview with Domino magazine, but it is clear he has an intuitive sense of the five elements and how they make a space feel balanced and comfortable.  The five elements are earth, fire, wood, metal and water.  They are represented by different shapes and colors.  Using all the elements will magically make it feel “complete” or balanced.  It’s an “I want to stay here!” kind of a feel. Michelle Obama has made a good choice of class and comfort for the White House.
