I have been hearing and seeing a lot of people complain about allergies.  I just heard some great tips about how to deal with the symptoms naturally.  The first thing to keep in mind that the body seeks to be in balance and is self cleansing, especially at this time of year.   We can support this natural rhythm in the following ways:

-do body scrubs with a loofah or your favorite natural scrub

-eat a couple organic apples a day: they provide cleansing for the kidneys and liver

-drink lots of high quality spring water to assist the elimination of foreign substances

-use Young Living Essential Oils;  good ones to consider are RC, Thieves, Christmas Spirit;  use them directly on yourself by inhaling, putting on your feet or getting a massage with them; diffuse them throughout your home

Most of us have heard that the essential oils of lavender helps us to relax.  But the science and practice of using therapeutic essential oils as part of our everyday lives teaches us that we can incorporate them into all of our activities and needs.

Cultures that use certain herbs and spices in their cooking often experience resistance to certain ailments.  Essential oils contain these same precious compounds and assist our immune system in the same way. Therapeutic grade lavender oil can help the body quickly recover from burns and scrapes to the skin.

The Essential Oils Desk Reference compiled by Essential Science Publishing is a great resource for hundreds of essential oils, their chemical structure and research that has been done with them.  I recommend to all of my friends and clients who use Young Living Essential Oils in their everyday lives. It can be found on Amazon or directly from the publisher.

What an interesting winter it has been.  So for we have seen more snow in New Jersey then we have for several years – and more come to this weekend they say!  I am always distressed when I am out and hear people talking (complaining!) about the sniffles, aches, coughs, etc., experienced at this time of year.  Why am I distressed?  Because my experience is so different. I want to grab each one by the shoulders and shout, “It doesn’t need to be this way!”

I have been using Young Living Essential Oils for over ten years and love the feeling of empowerment I get when I walk out the door knowing I will be able to skirt around the normal things that bring us down and ruin winter.  Go to the ‘essential oils’ tab above and follow the link to Vibrant Scents.  There you can see a couple DVD’s and some audio and written material about the efficacy of these amazing healers from nature! Look particularly for the story of Thieves oil. You know the admonition, “Don’t leave home without it!”

You can sign up for more information and order from there too.

It started several years ago with a picture of the “Treasury” in the ancient city of Petra in Jordan that was in a catalog from Young Living Essential Oils.  I cut it out and it has been floating around my office; on the wall, the end of the bookcase, on the file cabinet, etc., for more than four years.  I was deeply drawn to its magnificence, history and mystery.  Little did I know, the picture was also a “vision board” which the universe took as a seed of an idea, “I would love to see that in person someday,”  and created an opportunity.  Over the holidays I visited Jordan and saw not only the “Treasury”  but multiple other archeological sites including Mt. Nebo where Moses first viewed the “Promised Land,” and Bethany, the site on the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized. So many of the names and place we know come from that area.

But the history lesson is not my point today.  What I want to share comes from my experience as a life coach.  Visioning is a powerful tool for creating events and experiences in your life.  I have often found in my own life that I do not need to keep pleading my case to the universe.  A sincere, even momentary, heartfelt desire is the path to manifestation.  As shown in this case, sometimes the things that we have the least attachment to are more likely to come about.  This desire was far from the “top” of my list, or so I thought, and yet it came up and flowed into place.  And everything else on my list now has been positively altered because of the fresh perspective travel creates.

It is a new year and if you have not created a vision board this year, now is the time!

I just found a great article you may want to check out using the concept of a makeover for under $300. In these times of possible job loss and shrinking assets, having a space that is adding to your frustration and potential depression is the last thing you need.  Someone once described paint as money in a can.  That certainly holds true if you are planning to sell or rent property.  But imagine you are looking for a new job because you were laid off or are worried you will be.  Resist the temptation to sink into piles of old papers and mail and feel sorry for yourself.  Get rid of papers and things that dangerously keep you mired in the past.  Then get some painters tape and paint and start creating.  I am a great believer in the power of intention, so with each stroke of the paint roller or brush, visualize your perfect job coming to you quickly and easily.  You can increase the power of that potential exponentially by mixing in a few drops of Young Living Essential Oil “Highest Potential” to the can of paint.  When you are done, viola, you have surrounded yourself with success! Get inspiration at $300 Makeover. (You may have to register with the NYT but it is free and easy.)
